What makes you a "Divine Woman in Business? ✨What is your story?
As a Divine Woman in Business, I embody the spirit of a creative and entrepreneurial force, deeply rooted in both spirituality and ambition. My journey began with a curiosity about the world and its spiritual nuances from a young age, shaping my perspective on life and business. By age 7, I was already an entrepreneur, selling handmade goods, and at 11, I began working in a café.
From there, my love for design, business, and people flourished. I took bold risks, launching my remote interior design business in 2011, which allowed me to become a digital nomad, embracing freedom while working globally.
My design talent has been recognized through numerous accolades, including placing in the top 6 of BC's Best Young Designer and winning Urban Barn's Next Top Designer.
Throughout my career, I have founded various ventures—from a boutique to a co-working space—always with the goal of building community and championing others in business and life. My story is one of resilience, creative exploration, and a deep commitment to fostering growth, not only for myself but for those around me. This divine calling to create, inspire, and lead drives everything I do.
"What is a story of strength, survival or hardship you have overcome and what did that teach you?
A personal story of strength and resilience that truly shaped me came when I graduated during a recession and started my business while already in debt. I’ve always been ambitious, working through school in nightclubs, sometimes on just 3 hours of sleep to get everything done and pay my bills. I had to push myself beyond limits just to make it through.
But the challenges didn’t stop there. As I built my career, I faced almost every obstacle imaginable—personally and professionally. I was sexually harassed by men in my industry, emotionally abused by my first business partner, and often found myself fighting to be taken seriously in the male-dominated construction world. I’ve been scammed, underpaid, and overworked more times than I can count. I’ve even had men use my work as an excuse to try and get close to me personally, wasting my time and undermining my professionalism.
Despite the hurdles, I’ve always risen above. When I had to close my boutique due to a renoviction and my coworking space because of COVID, I didn’t see them as failures, but as opportunities to pivot. I've learned that resilience is everything in entrepreneurship. You have to roll with the punches, knowing that every closed door is just an invitation for a new opportunity. It’s taught me that no matter how tough things get, I have the strength to reinvent, rebuild, and come back even stronger.
This journey has shaped me into the businesswoman I am today—fearless, flexible, and grounded in my vision, knowing that resilience is not just a skill but a way of life.
"What advice would you give to other women to succeed as "Divine Women" in their lives?"
To truly succeed as a "Divine Woman," the foundation lies in strengthening your intuition, self-esteem, confidence, and self-worth. Work on this relentlessly because it will protect you from being taken advantage of. As young women, we often ignore that gut feeling in favor of people-pleasing or fear of missing out on opportunities. But people will take advantage of naivety, regardless of gender. Don't let the mindset of "it's harder because I'm a woman" discourage you—men face their challenges too, and some women can be equally difficult.
Keep searching for the right mentors and community. If one person says no, someone else will say yes. Surround yourself with like-minded entrepreneurs who can provide true support because friends and family aren’t always your ideal support system. Find mentors who inspire you and keep you grounded.
Avoid starting your business from a place of scarcity. It's better to have savings or a part-time income to prevent desperation from driving your decisions. Scarcity leads to anxiety, enhances ADHD, and forces you to say yes to unaligned opportunities that won’t pay you properly, consuming your energy and leaving you burned out.
Lastly, always maintain balance. Prioritize your spiritual practice, fitness, meditation, and hobbies. Don’t sacrifice sleep or self-care for success—your health is your wealth. When you take care of yourself, you can build a business that supports your well-being and long-term success.
